Puig D’en Valls Roll Past Celta And Becomes The First Semi Finalist Of Copa De La Reina

Jordi Fernández’s girls took adventage from a solid start 

Puig d’en Valls came out to a strong start and pull away from Celta de Vigo, a 17-2 in the first three minutes of the game knocked out Miguel Méndez girls and from then the Ibiza outfit cruised to an easy victory that puts them into Copa de la Reina-s semi finals for the first time in the club`s history, lead by the explosive Sancho Lyttle who had 21 pts and 12 rebounds.

Playing with the heart more than anything, Celta tried everything to close the gap. They got into seven points after 5 straight points from Alba Torrens, 26-19,  and give some thrills to the game but PDV gave no choice and they had closed the game by the interval after scoring a 10-0 run halfway through the second quarter which finished 43-27

After the break, and with everything said and done, Jordi Fernández gave playing time to all his girls, looking forward to the semi finals game since Celta wasn´t a clear and present danger.

PDV won the rebounding battle, 40-31, and also the averages battle with a 50 percent (21-fo-42) in two pts shots for a 38 percent from Celta (20 0f 52), and a 58 percent from beyond the arc (7-of-12) for a 33 percent (4-of-12). Celta only took adventage from the charity stripe with a 78 percent (14-of-18) in front of a 67 percent from PDV (22-of-33)

Laura Nicholls led Celta with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
