UMMC Ekaterimburgo 80 – MKB Euroleasing Sopron 56 

Both teams struggled in the offense in the first three minutes of the game – the score was 4-3 for Ekaterinburg UMMC, with all 4 pts coming from the free throw line and a three pointer from Amber Holt for Sopron. Teams came to life from minute three and briefly traded baskets leading to a frame in which Ekaterinburg was better offensively and defensively their defense blocked the Hungarians who couldn’t find open views. Gundars Vetra’s team made then a first 6-0 run to put UMMC 12-7 ahead with 4 pts from Maria Stepanova. Dóra Horta World cut the drought making it 12-9 but right alter Ekateerinburg stroke again with another 6-0 in the last 4:30 to reach the end of the first 18-9 up, thanks mostly to its aggressive defense. 

In the second UMMC took control of the game. They made a 9-0 run from minute 3:30 to minute 6:15 that put themselves 31-13 up and the game was under control. Ekaterinburg just relaxed a little in the last four minutes when they traded baskets with Sorpon to reach the interval 37-22 ahead. Jelena Milovanovic scored 5 from the last 9 points of Sopron. 

UMMC didn’t take a break alter the interval and based on a strong defense gave no chance  to Sopron. They reached their biggest lead after a three pointer from Cappie Pondexter with 4:46 to en the quarter (52-29). Ekaterinburg only permitted a field goal in the last 6:15 of the quarter – a trheepointer from Jelena Milovanovic which made it 56-37 with 1:16 remaining- and entered the fourth 61-39 up. 

In the last quarter Ekaterinburgh overwhelmed Sopron raching the biggest lead of the game after a trey from Deanna Nolan with 3:23 remaining to make it 76-44 and finally won the game 80-56 to a Sopron team that never had a chance.. 

For UMMC  Ashja Jones scored 18 pts, Sandrine Gruda had 16 pts and 14 boards. Cappie Pondexter added 13 pts and  Agnieszka Bibrzycka 11 and 5 assists. Ekaterinburg won the rebounding battle 43-30. 

For Sopron Amber Holt and Jelena Milovanovic scored 12 a piece.
