image Fenerbahce further bolstered their squad after acquiring USA National Team standout Cappie Pondexter, who is expected to provide an additional firepower to an already-potent team.

Pondexter, who played for UMMC Ekaterinburg during the first half of the EuroLeague Season before her contract ended last December 20, will have some sort of a homecoming in Istanbul, where she played for Fenerbahce as well during the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 EuroLeague seasons.

However, it is not yet clear whether Pondexter will play for Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague because of the initial plan of utilizing her just in their Turkish League campaigns.

On the other hand, UNIQA Euroleasing Sopron also made a bold move to start the New Year, signing point guard Bernadett Nemeth.

Nemeth, who played for the Good Angels Kosice in the earlier part of the EuroLeague Season, will also be making his return to her former team, where he won three titles with in both domestic and cup campaigns.

Fenerbahce is currently on top of Group B with their perfect 8-0 record, while Sopron sits on the fifth spot with their 3-6 record.
