Fenerbahce Cruises to Tenth Straight Win in EuroLeague Women

Fenerbahce continues to prove why they are the favorites to win the title this season after scoring their tenth-straight with an 80-60 demolition of Tarbes GB to remain perfect in the ongoing EuroLeague Women season.

Coming to the game as the overwhelming favorites, Fenerbahce displayed confidence and tremendous attack to build an early 23-11 lead at the end of the second period and further increased it to 20 points at the half.

The half-time break did not cooled them down and sustained their momentum with their balance offensive attacks and suffocating defense to ran away with the convincing victory.

“Congratulations to my players because they played seriously and with concentration from the beginning of the game,” said Fenerbahce coach George Dikeoulakos. “We should always keep this mentality and try to improve in every game no matter who the opponent is.”

Angel McCoughtry had a productive night as she finished with 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting, Nevin Nevlin had 11 points and four rebounds, while Ivana Matovic chipped in 10 points for Fenerbahce, who showed discipline despite the huge odds favoring them.

“We knew it was going to be an easy game for us,” said Fenerbahce forward Kubra Siyahdemir, who also had 10 points. “But concentration was important, so we are happy with the result.”

Alexandra Montgomery and Lizanne Murphy had 17 points with the latter adding eight rebounds, but it was not enough to lift Tarbes GB, who remained winless in ten games this season.
