image After the disappointment of missing promotion last season, the programme was changed radically this year with the preparation only beginning in June. This is the 3rd year in the B division for Germany and the objective is the same promotion.

Alexandra Maerz is the head coach this year and had a tough debut with the traditional 3-match series with France. France won the series 3:0 but Germany almost upset France in the second match with a gusty performance.

The lessons learned from the series with France were put into play as Germany went on to beat Holland, Ireland and Luxembourg in their last preparation tournament.

Germany starts in group D with Armenia, Romania and Israel; they travel without Emina Karic unfortunately injured but still have the experianced Svenja Bruckhorst a member from the 2006 team.

Svenja Brunckhorst (TSV Wasserburg)
Sarah-Marie Frankenberger (ASC Theresianum Mainz)
Julia Gaudermann (TSV Grünberg)
Sonja Greinacher (ETB SW Essen)
Mara Greunke (TV Langen)
Lara Farina Idelberger (NB Oberhausen)
Jenny Menz (TuS Jena)
Jana Meyer (BBZ Leverkusen),
Finja Schaake (TSV Grünberg)
Elina Stahmeyer (Lehrster SV / BG Rotenburg Scheeßel)
Franziska Steiner (TS Jahn München)
Kathrin Wischnitzki (BBZ Leverkusen/ART Düsseldorf).

Head Coach: Alexandra Maerz
Assistant Coach: Mirka Jarchovska
