China Wins Good Luck Beijing Tournament Gold Medal

China's Women's National Basketball Team defeated the womens USA National Team in the Good Luck Beijing Basketball Tournament for the Gold Medal. China had a great tournament with a 5-1 record and USA 4-2 and was prevailed as history making by winning the tournament over the Americans. This will give the China's confidence going into the 2008 Beijing Olympics where they have been selected in the same group for the Olympic's along with Mali and New Zealand.

Although, the USA National is not complete as many core players are playing in international basketball leagues, they look forward to regrouping in the Spring.

There's no question, there's not any team, not any country, where you can come in with less than your best, not play well and then expect to walk out with a win. That's been our challenge, trying to find the time for our players to get together and train. We simply haven't had it. We've trained different players at different times and right now Lisa's getting good experience. But we don't have our perimeter to work with her. Our challenge will be in July when we get together, we'll have to form that chemistry really quickly.
