USA To Face Australia In Olympic Finals

Roll out the carpet and let to two best teams in the world match up in yet again another Olympic Finals. Australia will face the USA after both teams go undefeated in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Tournament. The USA Womens Basketball Team had a difficult time reaching the finals during the first half of their game against Russia. Russia led most of the game due to aggressive play and forcing the USA womens team to 13 turnovers at the half. 

However, in the 2nd half top shooting by Diana Taurasi and Tina Thompson helped get a momentum for the USA going into the last quarter. Becky Hammon of Russia was scoreless from the field but did make all free throws 4/4. That was not enough to stop the USA from going yet to another Olympic Final.

In Australia's matchup against host nation China was fairly easy and they had no trouble at all with China. Australia shot well from almost everywhere on the floor. Five players scored double digits and starters were able to get a fair amount of rest to get ready for the final battle against the USA on Saturday.
