USA First College Tour Win Over Maryland

The 2007 USA Women's Basketball squad has started great in the college tour against the University of Maryland. Kara Lawson led the USA squad with 17 points and made eight assist to direct the first victory by 27 points. Other great performers were Seimone Augustus (16) , Diana Taurasi (15) and Lisa Leslie lead the boards with 10 rebounds.

Coach Ann Donavan is excited to start the 2007-2008 college tour on a great start. "We felt like we had a really good second half. Every day we're going to get better, we have three new players, one of which is Lisa, that joined us after Russia. We're still trying to get chemistry and flow with our team and I really thought you could see that towards the end of the game. We played with good effort and, obviously, Maryland is a very talented team, they did a great job even with Crystal Langhorne not out there. They did a super job."

The USA Squad will travel up North to play against the University of Connecticut. The ex-home of Diana Taurasi and Swin Cash which are both on the USA Women's Basketball Team.
