Tribute To Kay Yow

Long time NC State Womens Basketball Coach Kay Yow lost her battle to breast cancer on Saturday January 24th after being diagnosed in 1987. Coach Yow had such an impact on so many coaches and players throughout her career coaching Womens basketball and will be missed indeed.

“The really great thing about her was she had the courage to fight the battle in public,” Krzyzewski said after his second-ranked Blue Devils beat Maryland on Saturday. “As a result, she not only fought for her, she fought for everyone who has cancer or will have cancer and the families involved.”

The funeral for Coach Kay Yow will be held Firday January 30th and a public viewing from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.. The burial will take place Saturday, January 31st, 10:00 a.m., at the Gibsonville Cemetery in Gibsonville, N.C.
