With bragging rights on the line in college Womens basketball the road to the 2009 NCAA Championship
will be very exciting. March Madness is here and many college teams are in game mode with an attempt to
be named NCAA D-I Champions. With the University of Connecticut (UConn) leading the Associated Press (AP)
Polls coaches are hitting the gyms hard creating plays to give their team a chance of winning a national
championship. The 2009 Final Four will be played in St. Louis, Missouri, where the top 4 teams in the
nation will be competing for the title of Womens National Champions. The NCAA tournament has been played
by many of the WNBA's greatest players such as Lisa Leslie (USC), Diana Taurasi (UConn) and many more WNBA
players.
The University of Tennessee has the most NCAA womens championship wins in NCAA history and their
coach Pat Summit has the most wins and championships under her belt as an NCAA womens basketball coach. The
Final Four is one of the most hyped tournament during each season. Women have been competing in the Final
Four since it was introduced in 1982. The first team to win a NCAA D-I championship was Louisiana Tech
and the winner of the 2008 NCAA championship was the Tennessee Volunteers led by the legendary Pat Summit.
