Candace Parker Makes History In Debut Win Over Mercury

Candace Parker led all scorers with 34 points and Lisa Leslie marked 17 in the first win of the season over last year's Champions. Parker also made WNBA history by scoring 34 points in any debut by any player in the WNBA rookie or veteran. Cappie Pondexter scored a team high 32 and Diana Taurasi with 24. LA out rebounded Phoenix 42 -30 and both Leslie and Parker attributed to 24 of those rebounds with 12 each.
