Marta Fernandez Re-Signs With Sparks

Marta Fernandez has resigned with the L.A. Sparks for the 2009 summer season. Fernandez played for the Sparks during the 2007 season and is happy to return. During the winter season, Fernandez played in Poland with Wisla Can-Pack Krakow 10 points and almost 3 assists per game. Also, her team participated in the 2008-2009 Women's Euroleague after being eliminated.

Coach Michael Cooper and staff are happy to have Marta Fernandez back as an experience guard, "We're very happy that Marta will be back in Los Angeles," said Sparks Head Coach Michael Cooper. "She's a very talented and experienced guard that is a great addition to our roster."

She will join the new draftees and the newest signee, Tina Thompson. Fernandez is very happy to be back in the city that she loves and teammates as well.
