Indiana Fever Key Guard, Katie Douglas, will likely play for Greece Women’s National Basketball Team in the 2010 FIBA World Basketball Championship for Women in Czech Republic.

The 31-year old Douglas is currently under the process of getting her Greek Citizenship that will enable him to play for Greece even if she's a pure American and was born in Indianapolis.

The 2006 WNBA All-Star Most Valuable Player is having an impressive season with the Indiana Fever in the currently ongoing WNBA season. She is averaging 13.7 points and 3.8 assists per game helping his team notch the second best record in the league (8-4).

The nine-year WNBA veteran, who was the Key Player when Purdue University won the National title in 1999, is married to his agent, Vasilis Giapalakis, who is a native of Greece.

During WNBA offseason, Douglas plays in the Euroleague and he has enjoyed a lot of success in his stint in the biggest basketball tournament in Europe.

During the 2005 WNBA offseason, Douglas played for a Lithuanian Team before transferring to a Greek Team, where he met his husband. She also played for CSKA Moscow in 2009 and suited up for Galatarasay of Turkey in the Euroleague this year.

The Greek National Team, who are obviously looking to add firepower for the World Championship, also added an American-born player, Stephanie Murphy, to bolster their roster for their first ever stint in the biggest stage in basketball.

Murphy, who played center for Boston College in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season, has Greek lineage because her mother is a native of that country.

Murphy averaged 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game last season and was in the running for the All-ACC Team.

Greece was drawn in Group B and will be facing France, United States, and Senegal.
