Pío Xii Will Face Estudiantes For A Spot In Liga Femenina

Pío XII came out with a vengeance, as if it depended on this game if they qualify or not to play the semi finals. Their aggressive defense made Bembibre turn the ball out 11 times and left them in six points in the first, while Pio’s offense generated open looks from which Pío took advantage scoring 7-of-10 in two points shots and 4-of-6 in treys. Bea Pacheco called time out when the score  was 9-4 but it proved useless since they suffered a 18-2 run during the 7 remaining minutes to the end of the quarter that finished 27-6 Mar Xantal and Laura Grande lead Pío with 8 and 7 points respectively  

In the second Pío begin saving energies for tomorrow’s game. Back to back three pointers from Pío turned into a time out from Bea Pacheco. Her girls attitude got better after that, mostly defensively, since the offense kept struggling however the traded baskets until the end of the period, reaching the break 45-28 for Pío. Silvia Gustavo scored 8 for Bembibre  

Bembibre stormed out of the locker room with even more intensity in defense so they could cut Pío’s lead with 6-0 run in the first minutes to make it 45-32. Pío fought back with a 7-2 spurt that put them 52-34 up after 3:45 in the third, but Bembibre stroke again with a17-4 run getting back into action trimming Pío’s lead to 51-56 after a basket from Fernanda Da Costa with 2:15 remaining. Both teams shut off then, and remain scoreless during the rest of the quarter, in the case of Pío the frame extended to four minutes scoreless and the third finished 51-56

Laura Grande scored for Pío after remaining 6 minutes scoreless, bridging the third and the fourth quarter and started a 9-0 run that closed out the game for Pío as Bembire proved themselves unable to make the comeback complete since they were scoreless during 10 minutes, abridging the third and fourth quarters and not being able to score  until it was too late, when Fernanda Da Costa broke Pío’s run splitting from the line to make it 65-52, trading baskets since that moment but with the game already decided, finishing 70-57.

For Pío Laura Grande had 16 points and Elisha Turek 12 and 8 boards, with Cecilia Liñeira adding 11 boards and  points. For Bembibre Fernanda Da Costa had 15 pts and 16 rebounds along with Ylenia Manzanares’ 11 points and 6 boards and Irene Salgado’s 10 points
