Nine Teams will be representing their country in the 2009 Eurobasket Womens Championship in Latvia. The following teams:
- Hungary
- Israel
- Lithuania
- Serbia
- Turkey
- Poland
- France
- Slovakia
- Greece
With Division A Qualfying Round complete the nine teams who won the right to play in the EuroBasket Women 2009 Final Round are:
- Group A: Israel and Lithuania
- Group B: Turkey and Poland
- Group C: France and Slovakia
- Group D: Greece and Serbia
The best third-placed team: Hungary (Win/Loss: 5/3; percentage:62.5%; goal average coefficient: 1.1035).
The above join the top ranked teams from EuroBasket Women 2007 who have qualified automatically for the EuroBasket Women 2009 Final Round:
- Russia
- Spain
- Belarus
- Latvia (Organisers)
- Czech Republic
The ten teams who participated in the Qualifying Round and did not succeed in going through to the Final Round have been ranked according to their Win/Loss record, their Win/Loss percentage and their goal average coefficient as following:
The first six teams will take part in an Additional Qualifying Round while the last four will participate in the Relegation Round. The two best teams of the Additional Qualifying Round will earn the right to play in the EuroBasket Women 2009 Final Round in Latvia.
The two teams which finish top of the Relegation Round will remain in Division A, while the other two will be relegated to Division B.
The games of the Additional Qualifying Round and the Relegation Round will be played in January 2009 (4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 16th and 19th).
The draw for the groups of the Final Round as well as for the order of the games of the Additional Qualifying Round and the Relegation Round will take place in Riga, Latvia on October 15, 2008.
The EuroBasket Women 2009 Final Round will take place in the Latvian cities of Liepaja, Valmiera and Riga, June 7th-20th.
