Candace Parker Pregnant

Candace Parker, undoubtedly the best female basketball player from the United States in 2008 is now expected a child with her husband Shelden Williams. Last year, Parker the number 1 WNBA draft pick went on to be the first player to ever be awarded both MVP awards and Rookie of the Year WNBA awards. Candace Parker had a dream year by dunking in several games for the Los Angeles Sparks. Although the season did not turn out how L.A. planned it was a better season than the previous.

The couple are happy to be expecting a child, as most people are. It is an exciting moment. Lisa Leslie missed the 2007 summer season due to her giving birth to her child. In 2008, Lisa Leslie came back stronger than before and helped lead the USA National Team to another Gold Medal and by playing a record number of games for an USA Athlete. Will Candace Parker's situation be the same? Can she come back strong? 

After such a great season and spike in WNBA interest with dunks and better play by players such as Candace Parker, it will be a shame to see her out of the 2009 season. Hopefully, other rookies will boost the league because veterans such as Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson and Katie Smith have all won all of the awards which are available for any professional womens basketball player.
