The first quarter was marked by poor shooting from both teams –a 30% in field goals for each team and trading baskets in the first was really poor. With 3:·0 remaining Anastaiya Verameyenka made it 9-8 with Spain in front but it would take 1:30 more to score somebody again. Amaya Valdemoro made it 11-8 with two minutes remaining and nobody would score again until there were just 15 seconds left, when Alba Torrens sent the game to the second with Spain in front 13-8.

In the second Spain recovered its defense and started the second with a 14-0 run started by back to back baskets from Tamara Abalde and Anna Cruz added 4 points- capped by por Anna Montañana, in the first 3:30 –including a timeout from Anatoli Buyalski after just 1:30- to put Spain up 27-8. Natalia Marchanka cut the run after 4 minutes from the perimeter and since then teams would trade until the break with Spain leading 36-20, and with Belarus struggling to score.

Spain relaxed after the break and received a 9-0 run started by a trey from Verameyenka and capped by four straight points from Natallia Anufryienka to put Belarus into 7 points, 36-29, after 2:15, with Evaristo Pérez calling time out after 1:45. Amaya broke the run after three minutes and become a Trading until the end of the third in which Belarus got into five points after a three pointer from Nataliya Trafimava with 3:45 to the end, making it 43-38, with Spain rushing some offenses and lacking of accuracy but reaching the end of the quarter having increased the lead 49-40 after a trey from Laura Nicholls.

In the last quarter Spain resisted Belarus attempts to comeback, regaining the double digit margin during the major part of the quarter, only being trimmed in the last two minutes when, with the game closed Belarus closed the gap to five points, 61-56, with 45 seconds remaining after a three from Natallia Marchanka but Spain could control Belarus game which committed many mistakes down the stretch and ended up losing 63-56.

Anna Montañana had 16 pts for Spain, with Amaya Valdemoro adding 11 and Alba Torrens having 10 pts and 9 boards.

For Belarus Anastasiya Verameyenka had 16 pts and Yelena Leuchanka had 13 pts and 9 boards.
