Ciudad Ros Casares Thrashes Rivas Futura

Ciudad Ros Casares 73 – Rivas Futura 42

The reigning champions had no mercy and left no room for speculation.

This could have been a one quarter game, since Ros Casares show their intentions of renewing the title. The Valencia outfit dominated the game on both ends, add into their firepower an overwhelming defense that left Rivas in a 38% on two points shots (18-of-48) and a 7% in treys (1-of-7).

Ros played with a vengeance since minute one, reaching the interval with an overwhelming 50-20 lead which gave an end to the match.

After the break Rivas took advantage of a relaxed and failing Ros, winning the Javier Fort’s girls this quarter, 20-8, but it just was the call before the storm for the “ripeness” since Manolo Real’s team rolled over Rivas in the last ten minutes, 15-2, blowing out all the good work done in the previous ten minutes, ending the game with a more than clear 73-42

Evanthia Maltsi and Elisa Aguilar top scored Ros with 10 points, with Laia Palau, Elena Tornikidou and Erika de Souza scoring 9 pts apiece, adding the Brazilian 10 boards. Cathy Joens had 14 points for Rivas, with Rankica Sarenac scoring 12 and grabbing 10 rebounds and Nicole Antibe 10 pts and 11 rebounds.
