Spartaks Back In Euroleague Final With Strong Effort Over UMMC Ekaterinberg

Spartak Moscow 87-79 UMMC Ekaterinberg

UMMC Ekaterinberg had the game under control and played brilliant for all of 35 minutes. However, one big factor that UMMC Ekaterinberg could not deal with was: Diana Taurasi. Spartak Moscow trailed throughout the game however keeping it close in their hands. Taurasi could not be stopped individual defense or double teams. By the end of the 2nd quarter Taurasi led all scorers 20 points at the half and key three pointers to bring the Spartaks back into the game which they were trailing throughout.

Double teams did not faze the WNBA All -Star 6/9 from 3 point range in the 3rd period, Diana Taurasi; 29 points with 4:50 left in the 3rd period. Both teams will hot from the 3 point line in the 3rd quarter. However, it dried up fast in the beginning of the fourth for both teams. No one could score under the basket or from the outside. Spartak stuck in the game with key rebounds and hustle plays. The Moscow squad tremendously outrebounded UMMC Ekaterinberg 46-29. A key factor in the lost down the stretch. Candace Parker came up big for UMMC Ekaterinberg but it was not enough. Parker eventually fouled out in the end, while trying to make plays to steal the ball to put the game in overtime. The MVP of the game Taurasi was unbeatable and almost making a triple double in stats, only falling short with 4 assist. Taurasi finished with 37 points, 8/13 behind the arc, 6 assists and 12 rebounds.

Spartak Moscow will face the winner of the Ros Casares vs Wisla-Can Pack game.
