Rest of the World Clobbers Team Europe in EuroLeague Women All Star Game

The Rest of the World displayed their dominance as they hammered out an impressive 116-88 victory over Team Europe in the 2011 EuroLeague Women All-Star Game in Gdynia, Poland.

USA National Team standout and All-Star Game MVP Sylvia Fowles displayed flashes of brilliance as she scored 16 points highlighted by a fastbreak dunk in the final period, while Angel McCoughtry also added 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Rest of the World Squad.

WNBA star Seimone Augustus also had an impressive game, scoring 14 points to go with six rebounds, while Tina Charles and Monica Wright added 11 points apiece, helping the Rest of the World team avenge their defeat in last year's all-star game.

The Rest of the World squad, which is composed mostly of the American WNBA players, jumped on to an early lead in the opening period, 40-24, and they never faltered in the succeeding quarters en route to their dominating victory over the European Team.

Katerina Elhotoba, Sandrine Gruda, and Leron Cohen scored 14 points each, while Sancho Little chipped in 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, but their production weren't enough to lift Team Europe.

Meanwhile, Team Europe All-Star Hana Horakova received her FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year in the first period of the game, while Elhotova ruled the three-point shooting contest during the halftime break of the game, besting Alexandra Quigley.
