SpartaK, Rivas Complete EuroLeague Women Final Eight Lineup

Sparta&K Moscow and Rivas Ecopolis scored convincing victories on Wednesday night to barge into the next round and complete the final eight casts of the EuroLeague Women playoffs.

Sparta&K Pulls Away Late to Eliminate Nadezhda

Sparta&K Moscow suffered a huge scare in the second half before shifting to next gear to escape with an impressive 82-67 win over their regional rival Nadezhda to advance to the next round.

Trailing with almost four minutes left in the game, Sparta&K unleashed a huge attack and pulled away quickly shutting the door for Nadezhda’s upset bid.

Seimone Augustus had another huge night as she finished with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Candice Dupree and Becky Hammon added 16 points apiece for the Russian powerhouse.

Rivas Ecopolis Dispatches Bourges Basket

Meanwhile, Rivas Ecopolis also booked their own ticket to the Final Eight after scoring a tough 64-56 win over French club Bourges Basket in their knockout match in Turkey.

Essence Carson had an impressive night, finishing with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Anna Cruz took the spotlight as she scored 16 points to go with eight rebounds and five assists for Rivas, who were pushed to the limits by their French rivals.

Final Eight Cast Set

By escaping with hard-earned victories on Wednesday night, Sparta&K and Rivas Ecopolis joined automatic-qualifier and host Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Ros Casares, Wisla Can-Pack, UMMC Ekaterinburg, and Beretta-Famila Schio in the final eight.

The eight qualifiers were divided into two groups with four teams each, who will compete in a round-robin format. The top teams in each group will clash in the finals on April 1 in Istanbul.
