EuroLeague Women Final Eight Starts Today

The road to the title for the remaining eight teams starts today with the 2012 EuroLeague Women final eight taking place after a month of break.

Fenerbahce, who are still undefeated this season, will try to shrug off any rust on their game when they collide with Beretta-Famila, who are expected to give the top-seeded teams a run for their money.

Beretta-Famila, however, cannot be counted out especially after their performance in the opening round of the playoffs, where they defeated and manhandled the defending champions Perfumerias Avenida, but Fenerbahce is expected to be ready to extend their winning streak to 14 games.

The second-seeded Galatasaray, on the other hand, resumes their title bid today as the host squad goes up against Rivals Ecopolis in front of an expected jam-packed arena in Istanbul.

Another dark-horse for the title this year, Sparta&K MR Vidnoje will also display their stuffs today against Wisla Can-Pack, who looked determined to pull off an upset against the Russian powerhouse.

However, Sparta&K is expected to play with a lot of intensity after learning that head coach Pokey Chatman’s contract has been extended despite rumors of her being wooed by other Final Eight teams.

And the fourth matchup features Ros Casares and UMMC Ekaterinburg in arguably the closest one to call because both teams can matchup very well against each other.
